On the weekend the source of the by now infamous Joost sex video made a sworn statement to heat, detailing the background behind the filming of the video (an extract of the video is available here). In his hand-written statement (in Afrikaans), the source, who has insisted on remaining anonymous due to fear of being victimised, confirmed that Mike Bolhuis had not been in any contact with him or either of his fellow participants. He also contradicted Mr Bolhuis's claim that the girl in the video had a small child, and that the video was made as far back as 2006.

I am the person who supplied the video to heat. We decided to make the video because Joost was our role model and he just can’t do all that stuff. We also didn’t do it for money.

The reason we could do it was because Joost had seen the girl before for the same things. The fact that we also heard that Joost had cheated with other girls was also a big thing for us. She has no children.

The video was made about 8 months ago. It was made in a house in Moreleta Park. It was made late one afternoon. We got together and put the camera in a handbag. We had to cut it to hide it. We also piled clothes on top of it.

We waited this long before handing it in as we were waiting for enough time to pass. And though many people think it’s not Joost. It is Joost on the video! Mike Bolhuis also did not make any contact with any of us.

The girl also doesn’t want to make contact with anybody and that is why there won’t be any statement from her. I hope that this statement will solve much and that the truth will come out.
