Were you surprised at the way you left?

I had hoped that maybe Izak would swing votes again. It just shows that the tribes are still voting along old alliances. I still get angry just watching the episode.

What was the worst part about getting voted off?

That walk of shame. Really. You’ve been trying so hard and then suddenly it’s all over. I never thought it would come down to that.

What was the worst part of being on Survivor?

Not having contact with my family. That’s why I always tried to keep busy. If I did nothing my mind would wander and I’d start to think about my family. Is everything okay with my daughter… That kind of thing…

And the best part?

Sheesh, the whole experience. It really was amazing. There are so many little moments that contribute to the whole experience.

Did you loose weight?

12kg’s! And the first thing I did when I came off was eat boerekos. Call me old-fashioned, but I had to have my rys, vlies and aartappels.
