Shock over Patricia Lewis and Jeremy Mansfield

It hasn’t been a good week for the South African entertainment industry. On Monday, we heard the news that singer Patricia Lewis had been diagnosed with six tumours in her thyroid. And today brought even sadder news with 94.7 Highveld Stereo announcing that icon Jeremy Mansfield has been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.

Although it isn’t clear whether Patricia's tumours are cancerous or not, she will have to go under the knife either way. And there’s also a chance that her vocal chords may be affected, ruining her ability to ever sing again.

In Jeremy's case, even though the disease isn’t life-threatening, doctors will be taking an aggressive approach. “I have always been a positive person and that is the way I am approaching this particular hurdle in my life,” says Jeremy.
