Sonia Booth is ready for kickoff!
So if you were a footballer’s wife and it was the opening ceremony of the Fifa World Cup what would you wear? Oh the pressure!
Turns out Mrs Matthew Booth is not at all fazed by Friday’s sartorial challenge.
“I’m wearing my ‘uniform’,” Sonia told heat. And no, she doesn’t mean top to toe designer labels, unless you mean Adidas.
“Jeans. Green stilettos. My soccer shirt and my cap. That’s how you’ll see me in the stadium every time!”
The down-to-earth former Miss SA princess is not happy when people label her a football Wag, and her proudly South African match-day look will certainly confound the international press who probably expect “South Africa’s Posh” to be dressed to the nines at every Bafana game, starting on Friday. They’re in for a surprise, because, says Sonia, she’ll be in the same uniform for every game Bafana plays –“don’t worry, I’ll wash it in between,” she quips.
And the stilettos surely must mean a limo to drop her right at the gate, yes? Those heels will never make it on the trek from the park and walk! Sonia just laughs. “I wish! Luckily I am used to my stilettos; I can walk very far in them!”
No, that’s definitely not Mrs Beckham speaking…

Shoo! Where to start:
I am not a WANNABE: i have been labelled the The Reluctant WAG for a number of reasons(google me & U will read why).
On a normal day i wake up to take our son to school, return home to check emails for orders & enquiries for Booth Sports, then print the personalised football shirts. Pick N up, check and supervise his homework, bathtime & bedtime stories. Once in while we will attend funcions, a chance to live my fairytale(make-up/hair/camera/action)
A former friend once said that i lived a fairytale...she was right...I AM!. MY UPBRINGING taught me how to deal with adversity. Which made me want to live my life......
U should not take everything u read in the media @ face value. I will tell the media what they want to hear. I wear green & yellow gumboots to the Bafana Bafana games, not stilletos(unless i am in a suite/box) because i sit in the X-strong section(won't say no to a suite ticket, it is freezing.........). Some mondays u will find me in Alex eating tripe & samp, sometimes a shisanyama, or drive to mom in Pimville Soweto for some soul food.
I admire VB for her class, elegance, graice, poise and trend setting abilities/skills........I WISH FOR HER FORTUNE, NOT HER FAME! -
