We know there’s no such thing as an original idea, but we can’t let this opportunity pass without a little bit of a gloat about how ahead of the trends local design label Black Coffee is. In 2007, Black Coffee released their fabulous skirt dress that can be wrapped, draped and styled in as many different ways as you’re willing to try. New York designer Donna Karan released a very similar dress at the end of last year. Now we’re not saying the idea was stolen, but maybe it’s time we started looking more to our own talent for fashion inspiration than always relying on the international designers to do it first!
